Dieting
Your chiropractor is trained in nutrition and how diet affects your health and well-being. To Dr. Alvarez, nutrition comprises more than simply eating three meals a day. The chiropractic profession views nutrition as the materials needed to maintain your health, and includes the vitamins, mineral, and tissue building quality of what you eat. Some foods should be avoided, while others consumed more frequently. You should consult your chiropractor directly for your specific nutrient requirements, but there is a general list to consider.
You should avoid:
- Smoking and Alcohol
- White refined sugar and candy
- Junk Food” and empty calories
- Caffeine, found in coffee and cola drinks
- Salt and foods high in salt content
You should increase your intake of:
- Water
- Fruits and Vegetables
- Whole grain breads and cereal
- Lean cut red meats
- Fish and Poultry
- Skin Milk and low fat dairy products
Remember, your specific condition may require special dietary requirements, consult Complete Performance Center to learn more.

A few weeks ago I saw Dr. Chris Alvarez for my left shoulder which was almost "frozen." I had limited range of motion and that which I did have was stiff, weak, and painful. In just a few weeks Dr. Alvarez has restored my shoulder to full range of motion and it is now pain-free. I had been dealing with this issue on and off for many months and I had seen other practitioners, physical therapists but didn't get the results I was hoping for until I saw Dr. Alvarez.
Not only is he extremely good at what he does, Dr. Alvarez also has a very warm and caring manner. His staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly Marti at the front who is always cheerful and pleasant. It is always a pleasure to visit this office.
