Weight management

“The groundwork of all happiness is good health.” – Leigh Hunt

In pursing our goal of aligning with your heath needs, CPC offers weight-management services including obesity prevention as part of our practice. Living a healthy lifestyle is a result of many components and we believe that diet and exercise contribute strongly to achieving a healthy lifestyle. Our dedicated team will put together a customized weight-management program that will include three important components:

  1. Food Planning: CPC will work with you to create a meal plan that will fit with your weight-management goals. These meal plans are complete with menus that include meals and snacks.
  2. Exercise:  To complement your weight-management goals, CPC will create a specific exercise plan that is vital to your weight-management success.
  3. Follow-up, support, and counseling. We believe that every successful weight-management program includes some form of follow up, support, and counseling to provide patients and staff a chance to track progress. We offer a biweekly weigh-in and counseling with a staff member and then conduct a monthly follow-up with the doctor to monitor progress.   In addition, we offer a patient support group if desired. After all, we know the support we give our patients may be the most important component of our program.

Here at CPC, we recognize that obesity is a major epidemic currently affecting millions of Americans. And, being overweight can have serious consequences and complications, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers.

We know that being overweight is also a risk and will complicate myofascial pain syndromes, sleep apnea, pregnancy, gallbladder disease, and many other medical problems. The psychological toll is an even a more complicated by product that many overweight individuals face everyday.

We know that a healthier lifestyle does not happen in a day. Our dedicated staff will create a plan that works for you and then provide the support for you to achieve your goal.

Whole Body Vibration Therapy

Whole body vibration training (WBVT) has been shown to produce obvious, metabolic responses similar to other forms of exercise. Research on WBV began in the 1960’s to enhance the performance of Soviet Athletes and Russian Cosmonauts. It has been around for decades, and has recently become available for medical, sports science and aesthetic purposes, rather than just for astronauts and professional athletes.

WBV protocols used in Europe include:

  • Strength and power training for athletes
  • Ligamentous knee injuries and repairs
  • Acute back problems
  • Osteoporosis
  • Neuromuscular disorders
  • Obesity (via hormonal effects)
  • PVD/Diabetes (to improve circulation)
  • Incontinence

WBVT has been shown to deeply enhance strength, performance and power capabilities, even in well-trained individuals. Other long term benefits of WBVT include increased muscular growth, increased testosterone, improved bone density and strength, motor control, balance, relief of chronic pain and increased blood circulation.

The WBVT exercise when used in conjunction with conventional muscle exercises, can increase maximum muscle strength by over 30%, as well as reduce the period of training required by 85% and time expenditure exercising by over 50%. Moreover, unlike conventional muscle training methods involving weight-lifting, WBV exercises imposes almost no additional load on the joints, ligaments, and tendons.

Who Can Use it

It can be used by anyone, regardless of age or sex. In particular, athletes, overweight people (who experience difficulty exercising over extended periods of time), office workers with inadequate levels of physical activity, people who cannot find the time to exercise and patients requiring rehabilitative therapy stand to benefit the most from this novel, comprehensive exercise system.

How it works

  • PERFORMANCE           TurboSonic stimulates fast twitch muscle fiber to produce powerful muscles. Proportion and ability of such fast-twitch muscle fiber acts as an element that helps to decide the outcome of a race for athletes requiring extra power for a short amount of time, such as athletes at running, jumping and throwing sports. Exercise using TurboSonic also improves endurance of muscle, which is caused by stimulating the production of growth hormone to improve the function of slow twitch muscle fiber.
  • FAT BURNING              TurboSonic accelerates blood circulation and lymph drainage, strengthens collagen and stimulates the release of growth hormone (GH), ultimately, helping in the fight against cellulite. Whole body vibration prompts intestinal movement and improves the overall function of the intestinal tract. WBVT also reduces excessive body fat by increasing the recruitment of body fat during exercise and maintains the elasticity of the skin by enhancing the function of the connective tissues and the body’s circulatory system.
  • REHABILITATION          TurboSonic prevents the loss of muscular strength that occurs after surgery, which is generally due to lack of exercise during recovery period. WBVT maintains the physique and improves lymph and blood circulation to promote recovery. TurboSonic is being widely used by many athletes in their rehabilitation process to maximize their recovery and because it also enables a total body workout.
  • REJUVENATION            TurboSonic promotes secretion of serotonin (a hormone that gives a sense of happiness), Neurotrophine (a hormone that stimulates brain activity), Testosterone (a male hormone), HGH and IGF-1 (growth hormones). This can help the elderly achieve a healthy recovery and a more active lifestyle. TurboSonic helps prevent ageing by improving blood circulation, digestion and flexibility, while delaying the progress of various illnesses, such as, degenerative arthritis, back pain and osteoporosis. All this helps to promote a more active lifestyle.

Neck Pain

Dr. Chris

You are the best!  I had just about given up on chiropractic care.  I had been treated by 2 other chiropractors with only limited success.  I was facing a major decision...continue to have pain in my neck and shoulder or consider potential surgery.  Then my wife had such good success with her problems that she recommended that I give you a try.  You worked with me for three months building flexibility and strength and now the pain is gone.   I no longer consider surgery an option... because I'm cured!

You even helped me in some areas that I didn't associate with chiropractic care.  When i was in the middle of the treatment i severely sprained my ankle.  I was much surprised when you said you could help and had me back to normal in less than a week.  Later when i had a chest cold, and you helped open air passages and taught me how to improve my battle with colds and coughing.  Thanks again...you are the best!
